KOLLAM: Examination of witnesses in the Abdul Nasir Maudany murder attempt case on trial before Additional District and Sessions Ad Hoc Court-3 Judge S.S. Vasan concluded on Wednesday.

Mr. Maudany, who was then the leader of the now banned Islamic Sevak Sangh, had lost a leg in the attack.

Special Prosecutor in the case Sicin G. Mundakkal said 37 of the 67 prosecution witnesses were examined.

Nine of them turned hostile.

They included three who had given statements under Section 164 of the Code of Criminal Procedure (Cr.PC) before a magistrate.

Mr. Maudany while being examined as a witness last month said he had forgiven those who attacked him.
