An accused in a case of murder of an 18-year-old girl in 2004 was arrested after being brought here from Kuwait by the police on Wednesday.

Muhammad Afsal, 33, of Chirakkara here had escaped to Kuwait in July 2005.

He had been arrested for the murder of Shafna of Chirakkara, but was released on bail.

He later acquired a passport from the Bangalore passport office under the fake name of Taj Pasha Khan and escaped to Kuwait. Since then, he had been living with his sister and brother-in-law and working at an Internet café there, the police said.
