K. Muraleedharan, MLA, had a word of caution about the Kerala Protection of Privacy and Dignity of Women Bill, 2013. During the debate on the motion to refer the Bill to the Subject Committee, he expressed concern over the possibilities of some of the provisions being used to tarnish social workers and public servants. “It is easy to raise allegations against them. But by the time such allegations are proven false, the victim would have lost his name,” he said referring to instances, including the ISRO spy case.

On the Suryanelli case, he said since one person was targeted the real culprits might escape the law.
