KOCHI: The contributions of sanyasis like Muni Narayana Prasad are relevant in the modern day society where values are being fast eroded, observed social critic Sukumar Azhikode.
Prof. Azhikode was speaking at a meeting convened in connection with the 70th birthday celebrations of Muni Narayana Prasad here on Sunday.
Prof Azhikode garlanded Muni Narayana Prasad at the function.
Muni Narayana Prasad is one of the few sanyasis who is striving hard to propagate the ideals of Sree Narayana Guru. Narayana Prasad is a true disciple of great sanyasis like Nataraja Guru and Guru Nitya Chaitnya Yati, he said.
Though the Sree Narayana Dharma Paripalana Yogam was formed with the blessings of Sree Narayana Guru for spreading his ideals, the organisation has lost its character. Prof Azhikode said.
The organisation has also lost the Sree Narayana Dharma and has been reduced to just another organisation of society. Guru was quite sad at the turn of events, he said.
Inaugurating the meeting, Kerala Assembly Speaker K. Radhakrishnan said that Muni Narayana Prasad has made significant contributions by following the ideals of the Guru in his daily life. The teaching of Guru has more relevance in contemporary Kerala society and sanyasis like Narayana Prasad could be the leading light for Society, he said.
Former Judge of the Supreme Court V. R. Krishna Iyer released a special publication brought out on the occasion.
Swami Prakasananda, president, Sree Narayana Dharma Sanghom Trust, Swami Sakrananda Maharaj of the Ramakrishna Mission, P.K. Shamsudheen, former judge of the Kerala High Court and M.K. Sanoo, literary critic, were among those who attended.
