‘Mukham’ performed by Deepam Payyadi Meethal, Kozhikode, won the first prize in a skit competition organised by the Kerala Sangeetha Nataka Akademi here from July 8 to Jul 12. The award consists of Rs.15,000, a certificate and a statuette. ‘Thalappu’ staged by Arangotukara Kalapadasala secured the second prize, while Alappuzha Thespian Theatre’s ‘Josephinte Radio’ won the third prize. Akademi secretary P.V. Krishnan Nair on Saturday said 10 selected short plays will be given a subsidy of Rs. 50,000 each.
