The Department of Food and Civil Supplies has sanctioned the distribution of 38 kg of foodgrains, including 28 kg of rice and 10 kg of wheat, at subsidised rate for below poverty line card holders in January, February and March. A pressnote said an additional 5 kg of rice and 2 kg of wheat would be supplied for four months without subsidy. As many as 11.8 lakh above poverty line families would be entitled to 19 kg of rice at Rs.6.20 a kg and six kg of wheat at Rs.4.7 a kg for four months. — Special Correspondent
