The birth centenary of Communist leader M. N. Govindan Nair would be celebrated for a year beginning with a programme at his native village of Pandalam on December 10.

MN Family Foundation secretary R. Jeevakumar said in a statement here on Saturday that the celebrations would be inaugurated by Chief Minister V.S. Achuthanandan.

Union Minister Vayalar Ravi would deliver the keynote address, the press release said.
