KATTAPPANA: In a move to get first-hand information on the problems being faced by the tribal people, Minister for the Welfare of Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes A.K. Balan will visit the tribal colonies in Vazhathoppe, Udumbanchola, Santhanpara, Chinnakkanal, Bison Valley and Adimaly villages from December 12 to 13.

The Minister will interact with the members of various tribes and their heads to elicit information on the various problems in the colonies, including road connectivity, water supply and education facilities and the actual benefit the tribe members get from the various projects implemented for their welfare.

Mr. Balan will become the first Minister to stay in a tribal colony when he spends a night at Chempakathody Colony.
