Public Works Minister V.K. Ebrahim Kunju on Tuesday reviewed the arrangements for the upcoming Sabarimala pilgrimage at Erumeli and adjoining areas.

Mr. Kunju commenced the inspection by visiting the Sree Dharma Sastha Temple and the Juma Masjid at Erumeli town. Later, he reviewed the progress of construction works of bridges at Kanamala and Attivalavu. He assured that the construction of the Kanamala bridge would be completed within 125 days.

He also directed officials to put up a countdown board to ensure the time-bound completion of various stages of the construction.

The Public Works Minister said the renovation of all roads to Sabarimala would be completed before the commencement of the pilgrimage season. A stretch of around one-and-a-half kilometre of the traditional forest trail would be made fit for the journey. The paths related to the pilgrimage cannot be used for other purposes during the season.
