The accident insurance cover for the students of Mahatma Gandhi University has been hiked from Rs. 20,000 to Rs. one lakh. The increase that has been implemented with immediate effect will be benefited to over one lakh students of the University departments and affiliating colleges.

As per the new scheme that has been launched with the support of United India Insurance Company, the insurance claim in a single accident has been limited to Rs. 10 lakh. An amounts of Rs. 50,000 and Rs. 1 lakh will be provided for the losses of one and both limbs respectively. Moreover, the medical reimbursement has been increased from Rs. 1500 to Rs. 5000.

Students who wish to avail the benefits of the scheme have been requested to forward their applications along with the original copies of relevant certificates to the Director of Students Services through the head of their institutions.
