THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Air India Express (AIE), low cost carrier of the NACIL, has stated that it meets all regulatory requirements and is equipped to handle operations and maintenance of its fleet to established standards.
Apart from independent administrative and technical staff, the AIE has fully trained and qualified pilots and engineers to run its operations. Additionally, Air India Express, being a part of the NACIL, is supported by Air India in terms of infrastructure and services.
In a statement here, the airline said the Mangalore accident involving an AIE aircraft was being used to malign the functioning of the AIE implying that the operational and engineering infrastructure was inadequate and did not meet the norms.
The airline operations are independently audited by regulatory agencies and the audits have been cleared regularly from its inception to the satisfaction of the agencies.
