: Abdul Salam, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Calicut, inaugurated a workshop on emergency medicine, organised by the district administration, in association with the Malabar Institute of Medical Sciences (MIMS) and George Washington University, on Sunday on the occasion of the first anniversary of the Ambulance Network Group of Emergency Life Savers (ANGELS).

The Vice-Chancellor, in his inaugural address, emphasised the need for key changes in the field of medical education and teaching. Principal of Malabar Medical College Akbar Sherief delivered the keynote address. Around 250 delegates from the fields of modern medicine, Homoeopathy, and Ayurveda took part in the workshop, which gave prominence to strengthening life-saving mechanisms.
