National seminar begins today

THRISSUR: A two-day national seminar on `women in veterinary science' will be held at the College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Mannuthy, near here from Wednesday.

President of the Indian Association of Lady Veterinarians Pushpa Ratnaparkhe and Vice-Chancellor of Mahatma Gandhi University Jancy James are among those expected to attend the seminar.

The meet will be inaugurated by Thrissur Mayor R. Bindu on Wednesday.

Addressing a press conference here on Monday, organising secretary of the conference Sisilamma George said `women entrepreneurship in animal husbandry', `women veterinarians in education and research', `gender issues at work place and in animal husbandry practices' and `changing landscape of farm journalism' are among the themes to be discussed at the seminar.
