Meera Jasmine makes a comeback to Malayalam

Actor Meera Jasmine is back in Malayalm film after a three-year hiatus, thanks to director Rajeev Anchal's latest flick, “Pattinte Palazhi”.

Meera plays Veena, a singer in the movie produced by A.K. Pillai under the banner of Adithya Movies. The actor, who took a long break from the Malayalam film industry, said here on Saturday that she is feeling so happy to have made a comeback through such a wonderful movie.

“I should thank Rajeev Anchal for giving me a great character. Cameraman Azhagappan has been successful in giving me an entirely different look suiting the script of the movie,” she said.

Describing his movie as a small gift for the Malayalee audience this Onam, Mr. Anchal said the movie maps the various incidents in the life of a few characters through a musical track. Rajendra Babu, who penned the script, said Meera has come up with an exceptional performance in the role of Veena.

The movie is being released by Gokulam Gopalan under the banner of Sree Gokulam Movies.

It will reach the theatres on August 20. The lead cast includes Manoj K. Jayan, Revathi, Jagathi Sreekumar, Nedumudi Venu, Jagadeesh, Krishnakumar, and Premkumar. O.N.V. Kurup has penned the six songs in the movie. Music is by Suresh Manimala. Balabhaskar has done the background score. Editing is by Sreekumar. The child artistes in the movie include Bhavani and Akhila.
