  • Entrance test for admission to 9 NITs
  • Test centres at all NITs in the country

    KOZHIKODE: The common entrance examination for Master of Computer Applications (MCA) course to the nine NITs, NIMCET 2007, will be held on May 20.

    This year NIT - Durgapur will conduct the entrance examination for the three-year MCA course at NITs in Calicut, Thiruchirappalli, Allahabad, Bhopal, Durgapur, Raipur, Surathkal, Warangal and Jamshedpur. All the NITs in the country will be the test centres. NIT - Calicut (NIT-C) is the test centre in Kerala.

    Candidates with an aggregate of 60 per cent marks (6.5\10 CGPA) in bachelor's degree of full-time three-year course from a recognised university with Mathematics\Statistics\Business Maths as one of the subjects in one semester\year, both in graduation and at 10 + 2 level, are eligible.

    For SC\ST candidates, the percentage of marks is 55 (6\10 CGPA). Those candidates who are appearing for the qualifying examinations in 2007 are also eligible. However, they will have to furnish the proof of eligibility at the time of counselling\admission.

    Candidates can download the application form, syllabus for the examination and information brochure from the websites: www.nitc.ac.in and www.nitdgp.ac.in. Duly filled in applications should be sent to the `Convener, NIMCET-07, NIT Durgapur, NIT Campus, Durgapur - 713209' on or before March 23 along with an application fee of Rs.700 (Rs.350 for SC\ST) in the form of a crossed demand draft drawn on State Bank of India, RE College Branch (Code 2308) or any nationalised banks in favour of `Convener NIMCET 07' payable at Durgapur\West Bengal, says A.P.
