The Corporation will lodge a protest with the Prime Minister’s Office and the Chief Minister against the perceived slight on Mayor Tony Chammany during the stone laying function of Kochi Metro Rail held here recently.
Mr. Chammany was denied a seat on the dais though it was printed in the invitation that he would be proposing a vote of thanks. He was made to sit in the audience.
At the council meeting on Saturday, councillors cutting across political affiliations took umbrage at the insult meted out to the first citizen of the city by the organisers of the function.
Sharing the sentiments of the council, Mr. Chammany said that it was indeed an insult to his office.
