ALAPPUZHA: Authorities of St. Mary's School, Vattayal, are facing the charge of culpable homicide not amounting to murder for the electrocution of Fathima, a class five student, in the school on February 10.

Shiju Sheik, Judicial First Class Magistrate, Alappuzha, had directed the police on February 15 to register a case, conduct an investigation and report the findings to the court after T.M. Subhash, social worker and advocate, filed a public interest litigation petition, pointing out that punitive action had to be initiated against the school to prevent such incidents in future.
