The data flood in the modern times is a real challenge before the young generation, said Social Welfare Minister M.K. Muneer.
Addressing a function here on Saturday organised by the city corporation to distribute educational awards, the minister said students should know how to manage the abundant information available for them.
“When the knowledge provided by various media grows, the problem of managing information becomes more difficult. One should know to choose the right information and to discard the unwanted data,” he said.
Kerala-model education system was always a model for the rest of the country, he said. Mayor I.P. Paul presided over the function.
Students from various schools under the Corporation limit, who secured high marks, were given awards at the function. Teachers, who had won state and central awards, were also honoured. Schools, which achieved high pass percentage in SSLC and Plus Two examinations were given prizes.
