KOCHI: The Admission Regulatory Committee, headed by the former judge P.A. Mohammed, has directed the managements of self-financing professional colleges in the State to furnish details of the admission procedure proposed for 2007-08.

A meeting of the committee here on Thursday said that the managements should furnish the details immediately.

The Fee Regulatory Committee issued notice to professional colleges in the State to produce the fee structure proposed for 2007-08.

All institutions should produce the documents within a period of two weeks.

"Quoting the recent High Court verdict on Professional Colleges Act, chairman of the fee regulatory committee said: "Each educational institute must place before the committee the proposed fee structure well in advance.

"The committee will be at liberty to approve the fee structure or to propose some other fee structure, which can be charged by the institute and the fee fixed by the committee shall be binding for a period of three years.

To ensure transparency

Once the fee is fixed by the committee, the institute cannot charge either directly or indirectly any other amount over and above the amount fixed as fees."

The chairman said the committee would ensure transparency in admission and fixation of fee.
