Staff Reporter writes from Malappuram: The district has 2,744,012 voters as per the electoral list published on March 22, including the 53,307 new ones registered in the past two months, District Collector K. Biju has said.
As many as 1,3914,95 (50.71 per cent) of the voters are women and 1,3525,017 are men. Wandoor Assembly segment, belonging to Wayanad Lok Sabha constituency, has the largest number of voters at 1,93,113 (93,739 men and 99,374 women).
Eranad, also in Wayanad constituency, has the lowest number of voters at 150,405 voters. The lowest number of women voters in the district is in Vengara Assembly segment at 74,061.

The people could register their complaints with the election observers either directly or through telephone. The District Collector has said there will be restrictions on the use of loud speakers for electioneering. Speakers on vehicles will be permitted between 8 a.m. and 7 p.m. Permit issued from the respective police stations will have to be displayed in front of the vehicles.
Staff Reporter writes from Kasaragod: With the release of the final voters’ list on Saturday, the Kasaragod Lok Sabha constituency, comprising seven Legislative Assembly segments, has a tally of 12,40,460 voters.
The list was published as per 22,050 applications received after January 22, and 14,875 found place in it after scrutiny.
The new voters’ list has 5,92,658 men and 6,47,802 women across the Lok Sabha segment comprising the Manjeswaram, Kasaragod, Uduma, Kanhangad, and the Thrikkaripur Assembly segments in the district and Payyannur and Kalliassery in Kannur district.
The constituency has 1,093 polling booths.
The five Assembly segments in the district has 9,11,041 voters — 4,43,095 men and 4,67,946 women.
The total number of voters in the constituency in the 2009 polls was 11,11,414, according to official sources.
