T.A. Ramachandran, Judicial First Class Magistrate III, Thiruvananthapuram, who had asked the police to register a case against Amritha Mohan for beating up two men who harassed her, was transferred on Thursday.

The order transferring him to the Thiruvananthapuram Mobile Court, issued by N. Anil Kumar, High Court Registrar (Subordinate Judiciary), was faxed to the Chief Judicial Magistrate Court in the afternoon. Magistrate S. Sudeep of the Mobile Court replaces Mr. Ramachandran.

S. Jagadees, High Court Registrar General, said it was a routine transfer. Mr. Ramachandran had been functioning as a temporary magistrate.

Minister’s order

Home Minister Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan directed the police to complete the investigation into the case filed against Ms. Mohan urgently.

While the police booked the two men who harassed her, the men filed a counter-petition before the court against her and others.
