: The latest hike in LPG prices by the Union government is a declaration of war against the public, said Bharatiya Janata Party State president V. Muralidharan.

In a statement here on Sunday, Mr. Muralidharan said the government had first imposed restrictions on the number of cylinders to each household, after which subsidies were slashed and now, the prices were hiked, all of which in essence caused hardship to the people.

The BJP would organise State-wide agitations against the price hike and also against the severe shortage of LPG in the State, from October 15, he said.
