Untimely visitor: A long-billed vulture, Gyps indicus, captured by the local people in Pathanamthitta town on Tuesday. The bird, weighing about 8 kg, was handed over to the Forest Department at Konni. It is usually found in Central India and is a critically endangered species. The bird was released on Wednesday.
