Thiruvananthapuram: For those who cannot come to the capital to view the eclipse on Friday, the IT@School project is offering an option.

Its simulated version can be viewed on KStars, a free software package used by IT@School for imparting ICT enabled education. The package is included in the IT@School Linux operating system in all schools.

“The software enables anyone to view the spectacle any time from any place. Since the eclipse will be visible in Thiruvananthapuram, all one has to do is to enter the coordinates of the capital city (76 * 59 E longitude and 8* 29 N latitude) in the geographical settings, and the time of the eclipse in the required field of the KStars software,” says K.Anvar Sadath, executive director, IT@School.
