KOCHI: District panchayat president P.S. Shyla has said that a host of programmes would be organised under the aegis of the District Literacy Mission in connection with the fourth anniversary of the State government.

The achievements of the State Literacy Mission during the last four years would be displayed at all centres for continuous education programme. Akshara Kairali award will be given to Vytilla block panchayat and prerak Regi Mol for enlisting maximum subscribers for Akshara Kairali, the monthly publication of the Mission.

The district level inauguration of the seventh batch of class VII equivalent course would be held in connection with the programmes.

Job skill training would be imparted to beneficiaries of continuous education programmes. Workshops will be organised in this connection in association with Jan Shikshan Sansthan. A district resource team would be formed to conduct classes on various topics.

District coordinator of the District Literacy Mission K.V. Ratheesh presided over the monthly review meeting held at the National Savings Scheme Hall.

A meeting of the coordinators of centres for class X equivalent courses will be held at the same venue on Thursday at 10.30 a.m.
