Power tariff shock

The KSEB has hiked the power tariff exponentially without informing the public the actual effect of the hike under various slabs. A notice from the board says that new rates are applicable for all slabs. Even after a two-and-a-half-hour load-shedding, the board has not been able to reduce power consumption. No deliberations are expected in the meetings of power regulatory commission with the stakeholders and hike is on the cards yet again.

Make Gazette available

The non-availability of Kerala Gazette by post for the past eight months is causing hardship to the common man. The possibility of distributing the gazette through the Collectorate, public library, and local self-government offices should be explored. It is learnt that the Union government is yet to renew the RNI (Registrar of Newspapers for India) registration to the State government. Steps should be taken to avoid the delay.
