Security to Vice-Chancellor of the University of Calicut M. Abdul Salam was enhanced on Thursday following the receipt of a letter which threatened to kill him in 11 days. The anonymous letter, reportedly posted at Mankavu, near Kozhikode, has accused him of favouring the Muslim community in general and the Indian Union Muslim League in particular. The letter reached the university by ordinary post on Thursday. The police said that the threat would not be taken lightly. — Staff Reporter
