Kozhikode: The Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) has condemned the recent attacks on its party offices and a correspondent of its newspaper in Kasaragod district and warned that there will be strong retaliation if the Left Democratic Front government fails to put down violence.

The State working committee expressed the party’s resentment at these incidents at a meeting at the League House here on Thursday.

Deploring the attack, allegedly by policemen, on Rehman Thayalangadi, journalist working for the Chandrika, and the attacks on party offices at Thrikkarippur, a resolution adopted by the committee said “these incidents are an insult to the dignity of the people of Kerala.”

The government had failed to provide protection to the people, the Indian Union Muslim League alleged.
