KOCHI: Noted literary critic M.K. Sanoo, who turned 80 on Monday, was felicitated at a function held here on Monday.

Inaugurating the function, CPI (M) State secretary Pinarayi Vijayan said the writer had made significant contributions to the renaissance movement that shaped the Kerala society.

Prof. Sanoo, who is considered one of the best orators of the State, had always fought against the spread of superstitions and stood for the betterment of humanity. In his brief address, former Supreme Court judge V.R. Krishna Iyer said it was Prof. Sanoo’s quality as a humanist that touched his heart. The love for the mankind and commitment to serve the humanity are the other remarkable qualities of Mr. Sanoo.

The function was organised by the Kochi Corporation and T.K. Ramakrishnan Cultural Centre.
