Le Meridien wins National Tourism Award

Hotel Le Méridien Kochi's International Convention Centre was adjudged the Best Hotel Based Five Star Convention Hotel at the National Tourism Awards for the year 2010-2011.

The award was received by P. Mohammed Ali, chairman, Mfar Hotels, and Rajesh K. Madan, general manager, Le Méridien Kochi. The award was given away at a function at Vigyan Bhawan in which President Prathibha Patil was the chief guest. Le Méridien Kochi, managed by Starwood Hotels and Resorts Worldwide Inc ., has played a pivotal role in transforming Kochi into a MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, Exhibitions) destination.

The International Convention Centre of the hotel, recognised as one of the leading destinations for conducting meetings and events, is celebrating more than 10 years of success. The convention centre has set the stage for many meetings, incentives, conferences, exhibitions, launches and beauty pageants. It offers facilities to cater to the different needs of the clientele, the capability to meet the demand of multiple breakaway halls with the option of three outdoor venues on 18 acres of green land. It has hosted large conventions involving participation by 10,000 delegates, the release said.
