KALPETTA: Rajaji Mathew Thomas, chairman, Committee on Environment of the State legislative Assembly has said that the committee will recommend to the government to bring out a legislation to prevent heavy use of chemical fertilizer and pesticides in the plantation sector in the State, especially in Wayanad.

Mr. Rajaji Mathew told mediapersons here on Wednesday after a sitting at the collectorate conference hall that the committee had received several complaints on the excessive usage of chemical fertilizers and pesticides in tea estates and plantain plantations in the district.
