The councillors of the Kochi Corporation will soon flaunt tablet computers or laptops.

The move to make the civic representatives computer-savvy is part of the e-governance programme introduced in the city corporation. The civic body has given civic representatives the option to choose between a tablet and laptops.

The councillors have to return the gadgets by the end of the term of the council. The civic administrators are planning to provide basic training for the councillors to use the computer. Keltron, the public sector electronic corporation, will train the councillors.
