  • Water connection to one more apartment complex cut
  • Mayor for action against unauthorised connections
  • THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Kerala Water Authority (KWA) has disconnected water connection to one more apartment complex in the city on Monday, the third day of raids against unauthorised connections. With this the KWA has cut water connections to six apartment complexes in the city.

The apartment complex whose connection was cut on Monday is located in the heart of the Jawahar Nagar area. According to KWA officials, the raid party found evidence that the water connection here was also being used for construction purposes. At another apartment complex under construction near Kannammoola, the KWA cut a water line going inside the plot even though the connection was found plugged inside the plot by the builder himself. A notice was served to a nearby Ayurveda hospital asking it to produce documents to prove the authenticity of its water connection.

In all, the KWA teams inspected four apartment complexes and one shopping complex in the city. The raids will continue on May 3.
