Union Minister of State for Labour Kodikunnil Suresh has said that the Union Water Resources Ministry has expressed concern over the implementation of the Kuttanad package.
Talking to reporters after meeting Sree Narayana Dharma Paripalana (SNDP) Yogam general secretary Vellappally Natesan at the latter’s residence at Kanichukulangara, near here, on Thursday, Mr. Suresh said that funds were not allocated to many of the projects under the package as the Detailed Project Report (DPR) was not submitted on time.

“It is the responsibility of the State government to hand over the DPR on time,” he said.
The Minister said he would hold talks with Chief Minister Oommen Chandy for the smooth implementation of the package.
He said that priority should have been given to Kuttanad taluk in the implementation of the package. Priorities have to be fixed in the revised projects to be submitted to the Centre in this regard.
