PALAKKAD: District Collector K.V. Mohan Kumar has said that the Nila Heritage Tourism Project taken up by the district administration will help the development of institutions such as the Kunchan Nambiar Memorial in the district.
He was speaking after inaugurating the Kunchan Nambiar Day observance at Killikurishimangalam, near here, on Wednesday.
The Collector presented the Kunchan award to Thullal exponent Kuttamath Janardhanan at the function.
The keynote address was delivered by K.G. Paulose, Vice-Chancellor of Kerala Kala Mandalam.
The meeting was addressed by writer Mundur Sethumadhavan, district panchayat Education standing committee chairman T.K. Narayanadas, among others.
A literary meet organised as part of the memorial day celebrations was addressed by writers D. Vijayachandran, Alamkode Leelakrishnan, Manambur Rajan Babu and Dr. Murali.
The valedictory function was inaugurated by district panchayat president Subida Isahaq, a press release issued here on Wednesday said.
