Kudumbasree plans extensive campaign across the State
In a move to spread the message of energy conservation among the people, the Kudumbasree Mission has planned an extensive publicity campaign across the State.
In the district, the programme will be undertaken by selected Kudumbasree workers through community development societies (CDS). As part of this, a ‘Kalajaatha’ and a play will be held in the six municipalities and 81 panchayats of the district for a one-month period, along with awareness campaigns by experts from the Kerala State Electricity Board between March 2 and March 31.
The energy conservation rally will begin at Stadium Corner on Saturday. K. Sudhakaran, MP, will inaugurate the programme, to be presided over by A.P. Abdullakutty, MLA. District Collector Rathan Kelkar will be felicitated at the function.
Nearly 14 directors of the School of Drama, in association with Nireeksha, the sole women’s theatre troupe in the State, have trained the Kudumbasree workers to enact the play. Its theme is achieving a balance in the ecosystem by reducing the dependence on conventional energy sources and switching over to unconventional energy sources, the organisers said here on Friday.
Apart from the awareness programmes, sales outlets of solar energy equipment and training for Kudumbasree workers in these outlets and service centres are being planned.
