PATHANAMTHITTA: The Kerala State Transport Corporation (KSRTC) has operated a total of 4,111 long-distance services from its seasonal depot in Pampa on the foothills of Sabarimala during the Makaravilakku festival.

According to KSRTC special officer at Pampa R. Chandrababu, the corporation has also operated 9,517 chain services between Nilackal and Pampa during the Makaravilakku festival.

According to Mr Chandrababu, the KSRTC has operated a total of 812 Pampa-Nilackal chain services on January 14 and 1,091 chain services on January 15.

The number of long-distance services operated by the corporation from Pampa on January 14 and 15 were 504 and 378 respectively, he added.

Mr. Chandrababu said that the corporation had operated a total of 18,558 chain services between Pampa and Nilackal, besides 8,653 long-distance services from the Pampa depot during the 41-day Mandalam festival season, earlier.

He said that the KSRTC would close down its seasonal depot at Pampa after the closure of the Ayyappa Temple on January 20.
