Kozhikode will host an international literary festival every two years under the aegis of the Calicut Writers Forum.

Litterateurs from different parts of the globe will take part in the festival that will be termed ‘Calicut International Literary Festival.’

The festival will be organised in association with the Kendra Sahitya Akademi, National Book Trust, various academies in the State, and Department of Information and Public relations.

A meeting of the forum held at Kozhikode Collectorate on Thursday chaired by Jnanpith laureate M.T. Vasudevan Nair decided to hold the first of the festival in November. Purushan Kadalundi, MLA, District Collector K.V. Mohan Kumar, writers P. Valsala, U.A. Khader, K.P. Ramanunni, M.M. Basheer, P.K. Parakkadavu, Khadeeja Mumtaz, P.P. Sreedharanunni, and others took part in the meeting.
