Thiruvananthapuram: All arrangements are in place for the 36th Flower Show 2007 that is to commence at the Observatory Hills and Institution of Engineers Hall premises on January 20, Mayor and organising committee chairman C. Jayan Babu has said.

Addressing a press conference here on Thursday along with principal advisor of the flower show S. Srinivasan, the Mayor said the organisers expect three lakh visitors for the eight-day flower show being attended by floriculturists, flower societies and nurseries from all over the State.

The Mayor said Minister for Home and Tourism Kodiyeri Balakrishnan would inaugurate the event at a function to be organised at 5.30 p.m. at the Institution of Engineers Hall on January 20.

Apart from rare orchids, petunia, phlox, roses and other flowering plants, a big collection of cut flowers would also be on display.
