The Kerala Postal Circle will host the 26th All India Postal Hockey Tournament at Chandrasekharan Nair Stadium here from Monday to Thursday.

Shobha Koshy, Chief Post Master General, Kerala, told a press conference on Saturday that teams from Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Punjab, Tamil Nadu, and Uttar Pradesh would participate in the tournament, in which there would be 12 matches in the round-robin format.

The tournament would be inaugurated by P. Nandakumaran, Chairman and Managing Director, State Bank of Travancore. The Kerala circle would, in two months, wrap up the recruitment of 51 candidates, including women, in the sports quota for nine disciplines, including hockey. Consequently, the circle would soon have its own hockey team, she said.
