: A Division Bench of the Kerala High Court on Monday dismissed a writ petition by the former ISRO chairman G. Madhavan Nair against a verdict of the Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT), Ernakulam Bench, rejecting his plea against a Union government order barring him from holding government posts.

The Bench comprising Justice Thottathil B. Radhakrishnan and Justice Babu Mathew P. Joseph observed that there was no jurisdictional infirmity or illegality in the order of the Tribunal that the application filed by Mr. Madhavan Nair was not maintainable.

The Centre had issued the order following the findings of two committees that looked into an agreement made between Antrix Corporation and Devas Multimedia in 2005.

Mr. Nair also challenged the Centre’s order terminating his appointment as Dr. Vikram Sarabhai Distinguished Professor. The Centre’s orders had directed that he be divested of his current assignment or consultancy with any government organisation.
