THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Kerala Tourism's `Slice-of-life' campaign picked up the prestigious Das Goldene Stadttor (the Golden City Gate) at ITB Berlin 2007.

Minister for Home and Tourism Kodiyeri Balakrishnan along with Secretary, Tourism, V. Venu and Director of Tourism Sanjay M. Kaul received the award at a ceremony held at ITB Berlin on March 10.

Ultimate proof

The award is recognition to the ultimate proof of the effectiveness of Kerala Tourism's innovative marketing and promotion of the destination, Mr. Kodiyeri said after receiving the award. The award winning campaign, recently launched worldwide, narrates real-life transformational experiences that travellers underwent during their holiday in various destinations in the State.

The winning entries were selected by a jury comprising tourism marketing experts, journalists, industry experts and celebrities, according to Kerala Tourism. The State had earlier bagged the Berlin Golden Gate 2006 for the best television commercial that is considered as Oscar of travel industry.
