Kavitha Pillai, accused in a case of cheating by promising admission to postgraduate medical seats, who allegedly collected Rs.65 lakh from a person at Yakkara here was sent to police custody for two days by the Chief Judicial Magistrate Court here on Wednesday. A case was filed against Kavitha with the Town South police for cheating. The police sought her custody to take evidence and question her on the allegations. The police said she was involved in seven other similar cases in different parts of the State. Kavitha was brought by the police here on Tuesday, and lodged in the Palakkad sub-jail. — Staff Reporter
