As part of the birth centenary memorial of Kalamandalam Krishnan Nair, Satvikam — an organisation that promotes the classical dance drama of the State — will organise an all-night Kathakali programme on Saturday at Seetharam Kalamandir, Chankkamkulangara, Tripunithura.

The performances will bring on stage characters such as the pacha , kathi , kari , vellathadi , chuvanathadi and minuku from seven different tales of the Indian epics.

Many senior artistes including Kalamandalam Balasubramanian, Kottakkal Kesavan Kundalayar, Sadanam Bhasi, Kalamandalam Soman and FACT Padmanabhan will don various roles.

The stage will open with Nalacharitham 2{+n}{+d}day (from Kuvalayavilochan to Dayithekel) with Kalamandalam Balasubrahmanian donning the role of King Nalan. The second item will be from Seethaswayamvaram with Kundalayar donning the role of Parasurama.

A scene from Banayudham will be followed by a scene from Lavanasuravadham, another scene from Nalacharitham 2{+n}{+d}day (with characters of Katalan and Damayanthi) and Rajasooyam (killing Sisupalan). The programme will conclude with a scene from Dussasanavadham.

The programme is scheduled to start at 8.30 p.m.
