The All India Open Karate Championship, to be jointly organised by Shorin-Ryu-Karate Association and Nehru Yuva Kendra, will be inaugurated by M. Hamsa, MLA, at Coronation Club, Ottappalam, on November 10 at 10 a.m. Nearly 400 youngsters, including 150 girls, from Delhi, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Pondicherry, Haryana, and Kerala will participate in the championship.

Competitions will take place in the various events of Karate such as Kata, Kumite, and Kombude for boys and girls separately in the categories of sub junior, junior, senior, and veteran. N.G. Sivadas of All India Karate Federation will be the chief referee. The valedictory function will be inaugurated by M.B. Rajesh M.P on November 11.

Shafi Parambil, MLA, will distribute awards to the winners and K.S. Saleekha, MLA, will be the chief guest at the function.
