Wins HS, HSS categories in art fete; Payyannur comes second in both segments

A rush of events in the final hours, a string of appeals, and general confusion marked the concluding day of the revenue district school art festival. Stage events are expected to go on till late into Sunday night.

However, by late evening, Kannur North sub-district had gained a virtually unassailable lead, garnering 305 points in the high school and 281 points in the higher secondary school sections. Last year too, Kannur North had topped these segments.

Payyannur sub-district is at the second spot with 214 points in the HS section while Iritty is at third position with 208 points.

In the HSS section, Payyannur sub-district has 250 points and Madayi, 238 points. In the upper primary section, Payyannur sub-district was leading with 136 points, followed by Kannur North and Panur, both with 130 points.

Schools’ performance

Among individual schools, St. Theresa’s AIHSS, Kannur, was leading in the UP section with 53 points followed by Tharuvanatheru UP School with 45 points and GUPS Mattannur with 40 points.

In the HS section, Rajiv Gandhi Memorial HS, Mokeri, was on top with 141points, followed by Kadambur HSS with 98 points and Mambaram HSS with 94 points.

Kadambur HSS was leading with 95 points in the HSS section till evening. Mambaram HSS closely follows with 94 points while St. Theresa’s AIHSS Kannur has 90 points.

In the UP Sanskrit section, Korom D.S.A. UP School was leading with 41 points followed by Karippal S.V. UP School with 31 and Mavilayi UP School with 28 points. Mambaram HSS was leading with 63 points in the HS Sanskrit section.

Iritty High School is at number two with 49 points closely followed by Rajiv Gandhi Memorial HS, Mokeri, with 48 points.

In the UP Arabic section, Kadavathur West UP School was leading with 38 points followed by GUPS Uliyil and Koonhancode UP School, both sharing the second slot with 32 points each. The HS Arabic section had SABTM HS, Thayineri, in the lead with 43 points followed by Rajiv Gandhi Memorial HS, Mokeri, with 38 and Seethi Sahib HSS, Thaliparamba with 33 points.
