KOTTAYAM: P.C. Thomas, chairman of the Kerala Congress faction aligned with the Left Democratic Front, has alleged that P.J. Joseph, who had left the party to merge with Kerala Congress(M), was trying to mislead the party activists on the issue of the name and symbol of the new entity.

Speaking to presspersons, he pulled up Mr. Joseph for announcing that the Election Commission would be approached to freeze the party symbol “cycle.”

Referring to the declaration that the new party would be called Kerala Congress (without any suffix) on obtaining recognition from the Commission, he said those who had left the party and joined another would in no way be able to retain the name of the original party.
