Congress leader V. M. Sudheeran has said that the Jan Lokpal Bill does not offer a solution to all social ills.
He was addressing a meeting here on Thursday to observe the seventh death anniversary of CPI leader and former Minister V. V. Raghavan.
“Citizens' ombudsman bills have limitations. Only political will can eliminate corruption. To achieve this, legislative bodies and Assembly committees should rise to the expectations of the public,” he said.
He stated that economic liberalisation contributed to rapid privatisation. “In the name of streamlining the economy, all sectors in the country are being corporatized,” he said.
