The units of ITI and Instrumentations, central public sector undertakings, at Kanjikode did not function during the strike by central trade unions on Wednesday and Thursday.
ITI declared a holiday as all trade unions in the company served strike notices. The management’s decision to keep the unit closed has invited criticism. Some of the leading union leaders work in the company.
However, the management said the company would function in the coming two Sundays to make up the lost days.
Instrumentations did not function as the Centre of Indian Trade Unions served strike notice and went on strike.
Workers of the Indian National Trade Union Congress took leave to express solidarity with the strike.
However, the officers came for work.
