An international craft fair will be held from December 16 to 30 at Kottakunnu in Malappuram as part of the Grand Kerala Shopping Festival from December 1.

Craftsmen from Egypt, Sri Lanka, Nepal and Afghanistan are expected.

As many as 140 stalls will be set up.

In a press note here on Thursday, Home and Tourism Minister Kodiyeri Balakrishnan, who is chairman of the festival, said the authorities were working on organising cultural evenings as part of the fair with the cooperation of the participating countries.

Instead of the conventional stalls, traditional workplaces would be put up so that the visitors and tourists could see the craftsmen at work.
